Paula Luther in Costume - Oils Painted 3rd March 1985 Paula was ready to go on stage to strut her stuff when I painted her in this Oriental Costume. She had as much makeup on her face as I used to paint her portrait. |
Teena in costume - Oils I was commissioned to paint this budding young ballerina in September 1996. I often wonder if Teena continued with her dancing. At that time I was president of the Logan Creativity Centre, which took up most of my time, so preventing me from following her career. |
Rodney Etheridge - Oils Rodney was my nephew. He met a tragic death by electrocution when still in his teens
Vanessa - Oils Vanessa was a cute little girl whose mother was a member our group at Mayes Cottage at the time I was president. The reason for the Clown getup, was that we dressed her up to sell balloons at one of our fun days. I painted her portrait as a gift for her services. |
Sheree - Oils 1991. I painted this portrait on December 1985.
Sheree is my Granddaughter and I think she was about 4 or 5 years old at the time.

Miss Cronk - Pastels Pastels in the best medium I know for portrait work It is my favorite medium as a rule, but for portraits it stands out above the rest.
I painted this beautiful daughter of my dental prosthesist as a favour to her doting father.

Pope John Paul - Pastels Although I am not a catholic, or any religion for that matter. This does not stop me from painting a good subject when I see it. I could not get a private sitting, so I had to settle for taking a photo and painting from there.

Sherry Garner - Pastels This is another commission by a doting father. Sherry was a excelent subject for my favourite mediun (pastels), and goes to prove what I said earlier about pastels being the best medium for portrait painting. I painted this in May 1987. |
Chrisie's Mother - Pastels This one was painted for a friend whose mother was dead, she only had a small old black and white photo for me to work from. The likeness and colouring was perfect according to Chrisie. One of the many problems that portrait artists ofter come across. |
Judy's Mother - Pastels Another colouring job similar to the one above only a bit more dificult, the photo was much older and in worse condition. However, the client was very happy with the results and that is what matters. |
