Archibald Gillespie
(1824-18??) from Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland and his wife Margaret
Munro (1831-1906) arrived
in Melbourne, Australia on "Persia" in March 1854. They
lived and worked around Ballarat. It is unclear whether Archibald
accompanied his wife Margaret and children Agnes, George and Margaret
when they moved to Arcadia, NSW around 1880. Margaret rests in
the Uniting Church Cemetery at Dural, NSW.
George Archibald Gillespie (1861-1932) was a Beaconsfield Ward Alderman on Alexandria Council in Sydney, New South Wales.
The Gillespies originated from the Isle of Islay off the west coast of Scotland.
