Directions to Kunderang.   …… If coming from the Coffs coast.

Note; the GPS co-ordinates in red [degrees, minutes, seconds] are for those with GPS units.

Take Waterfall way through Dorrigo and Ebor and head towards Armidale.

Before you get to Wollomombi turn left onto the Kempsey road. [ 30 30 57 x 152 03 51 ].

Travel 9.73 km [passing  through Jeogla],  till you come to Williams rd. Turn right into Williams rd. Travel 300m. Turn left into Biston Park [attend 1^st house] and see the property owner, Cindy McRae [ph. 02 6778 1264 & 0429 192 810] for key, pay key deposit of $25…refundable, & pay camping fees $7.50 per adult/night, and vehicle fee $10.00 once per car  …this is for roads maintenance.

With the key, return to the Kempsey rd and turn right.

Travel 5.48 km to, and cross the Styx river bridge.  [ 30 35 19 x 152 09 54 ]

It might be worth stopping here for a look/see.

Travel another 4.23 km to the Raspberry rd intersection.  [ 30 37 02 x 152 10 54 ]

Turn right into Raspberry rd.

Travel 32.2 km to the intersection of East & West Kunderang rds. [ 30 48 47 x 152 02 09 ]

Take the West Kunderang rd.   [Right hand fork] …Don’t take East Kunderang rd.

Travel 7.95 km to the West Kunderang riverside camp area.  In this section you will pass a lookout [stop and have a geek] and a locked gate. Use your key at this gate. Relock the gate after going through. Lower down there are two more gates {white ones}. Leave any gates as you found them. Find your designated camp area.  Enjoy your stay, and play it safe as it is a long way to get help.

Note, The last 6km is a steep descent and will require driver-caution. Use a low gear for safety.

The total distance from Waterfall way to West Kunderang campsite is approx 59.6 km.

If we are to enjoy this property again, there are some rules we have to follow.

A satellite phone [at the cabin] is available for emergencies only. It has pre-programmed buttons.

Property vehicle-speed is 20kph.

All cattle, horses, wildlife, have right of way.

Drive on designated tracks only.

No vehicle to attempt river crossings

Camp only in designated campsites with toilet provided

Fires only in designated fire-pits. Don’t circle the fire with stones.

Use only the firewood provided. Don’t leave fires unattended. Douse fires when leaving.

Keep rubbish out of the fire-pits, and don’t burn plastics.

Observe any fire-bans.

All rubbish to be removed from the property.

No detergents in the river. Wash / clean at least 50m from the river

Bring your own drinking water or boil the river water for drinking.

Generators are not allowed. Medical exceptions.

Fishing is catch & release and a licence is required.

Pets allowed at property owners discretion.  Just ask.
