Here is a long, but not comprehensive list of
what we have swapped at the West Croydon swap over the last
three summers:
fruits & vegetables:
peaches, plums, grapes, figs, lemons, apples,
pears, oranges, watermelon, nectarines, pomegranates, lilly
pillies, almonds, sugar cane, goji berries, strawberry guavas
zucchini, eggplants, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, chillies,
capsicums, bell peppers, carrots, cucumbers, apple cucumbers,
beetroots, horseradish, spinach, silverbeet, rhubarb
herbs:
including sage, mint (including chocolate mint,
eu de cologne mint, pineapple mint and more!), parsley, oregano,
chives, basil, thyme, rosemary, horseradish, curry leaves,
vietnamese mint, fenugreck, marjoram, lemongrass, stevia,
fresh aloe vera, purslane (that's an in-group joke!!!)
plants, seeds, cuttings & seedlings:
including jerusalem artichokes, tomato seedlings,
bluebell bulbs, calendula seeds, lettuce seeds, celery seeds,
marigolds, goji berry plants, cactuses and flowering succulents
other produce:
including apricot jam, plum jam, plum brandy
sauce, ginger syrup, anzac biscuits, home-made bread,and eggs
from chickens who are "more family than pets" and were kept
cool in a wading pool during February's scorching weather!
morning tea:
has included fresh home-made scones with home-made
jam and cream; round pink cream-filled lamingtons; chocolate
zucchini cake (see recipe)
