MASKS
| Mask Making ~ The students can make masks out of various materials. The two easiest methods are using 'Modrock' and cardboard. |
| Modrock Mask ~ Modrock is plaster impregnated into bandages and
is easily used by students.
Once dry remove the mask mould and paint the masks with while poster paint so that the coloured paint will be strong and not soak into the plaster. Decorate with bright colours and use fine paint brushes to achieve fine lines and decorative features. See below for the masks made by the students. Cardboard Mask ~ This is a cheaper alternative to making the Modrock mask and can be equally as effective!
For the final layer use brightly coloured tissue paper to give a bright textured appearance. Decorate with bright paints and use fine lines to enhance the designs. Small sequins or other decorations can be added. |
