Drought then Flooding Rain

Photos by Ross Allan

• The Amos farm buildings in the foreground with a brand new lake, formed after over five and a half inches or one hundred and forty millimetres which fell in mid-May 2007.

• Pictured, about to go for a ‘crop inspection’ on his farm at Tyrrell Downs is Butch Amos and Taylor Hannig (at the front of the boat).

• Flooding occured at this house, located on the Robinvale Road. Formerly Hannig’s farm, the house block was subdivided several years ago and is now owned by Barry and June Griffiths of Rye.

• This striking photo shows the south eastern side of Lake Tyrrell, looking north from Stewart’s farm. The Mallee Rally track can be seen on the right.
