Sea Lake Off Road Club Hosts State DinnerBy Marilyn Emmins, Chairman, Victorian Off Road Panel
The Victorian Off Road Panel congratulates all trophy recipients who received awards at the inaugural Victorian Off Road Awards evening held at Sea Lake on March 14, 2009. Awards for the 2008 Off Road season were presented to not only our state competitors but also state competitors competing at the national level of our sport. We had some fantastic performances from Victorian competitors throughout 2008 and we all came together to recognise and congratulate them. Unable to be present on the evening, we recognised the 2008 Australian Off Road Champions, Shannon and Ian Rentsch from Warrnambool. A big thank you to Sea Lake Off Road Club for hosting the Awards evening for 2008. They all did a fantastic job, putting on a great evening which was enjoyed by all. The Victorian Off Road Panel would like to acknowledge the attendance of the Australian Off Road Commission, Chairman Ben Erceg, who spoke briefly on the role of the commission for 2009 and congratulated everybody for organising the evening and the effort that went into having vehicles on display to keep with the overall theme of the evening. Cameron and Alistair McClelland took out the 2008 Victorian Off Road Championship Driver and Navigator; while Neil and Sam Bowles took the 2008 Mallee Shield Inter-Club Challenge Driver and Navigator. Cameron and Alistair McClelland were presented with their trophies for 1st in Super 1650 Class for the 2008 Australian Off Road Championship. The evening was very successful, and we look forward to making the Awards evening a permanent date on the Off Road Calendar.
