Modal Choice Interactive

The giant cash register on the right has a row of four buttons, each with a different icon representing a destination (milk bar, city, across town, country drive) and a row of three buttons, each with a different icon representing a choice of mode of transport (walk, car, bus).On the left is the blackboard on which results are recorded and comments made by participants.

Selecting and holding down a destination button and then pressing a mode button brings up an appropriate message relating to the environmental sensitivities of that choice in the register window.

The design brief: Design and build a robust, reliable, completely safe interactive to demonstrate a complex set of relationships to a wide variety of age groups in a non-intimidating, fun way. How did we go? No problems so far.
