Key development post with Hardie Holdings

NEWCASTLE businessman Matthew Somers has been appointed general manager of Hardie Holdings Group, a Sydney-based industrial property development company with key interests in the Hunter. Announcing the appointment, managing director Duncan Hardie said the move was an indication of how important the Hunter was to the future of his organisation. `Matt is one of a carefully selected team of highly skilled professionals recently assembled to help manage a number of major projects,' Mr Hardie said. With more than 27 years experience in surveying and project management, Mr Somers was the founding partner of Harper Somers Surveying, Engineering and Planning Consultants in Broadmeadow. `With an extensive knowledge of planning and development issues and a strong network of contacts in the Hunter Region, we are confident Matt will make a valuable contribution to the future success of the Hardie Holdings Group,' Mr Hardie said.

Hardie Holdings has more than 4000ha of land in the Hunter Valley, Port Stephens and Great Lakes regions. The jewel in the crown is the newly rezoned Hunter Employment Zone south-east of Cessnock, the largest industrial estate in NSW. PEACH Advertising has appointed Lynn Poole as general manager. Ms Poole has been with Peach for 10 years and moves from group account director on NIB Health Funds, Lend Lease Retail and the EPA `It's A Living Thing' campaign. Announcing the appointment, Peach group executive chairman Paul Hannan said: `Lynn's experience in the advertising and media industry combined with her demonstrated commitment and enthusiasm make her an ideal choice for this challenging role.'
