Welcome to my page

I have been associated with Toastmasters for many years and have met a lot people and made many friends. It has always given me great pleasure and satisfaction to see new people come into the club and to watch their progress as they follow the Toastmasters Communication and Leadership program.

I first joined Nepean Valley Toastmasters in Penrith in 1976 meeting in the board room of the RSL club.
I remember the nervousness of those early times, the repetitive practice of my speeches at home and the report of the Umm-Err counter saying - "and Ian had 30".

Progress

As I lived in the Blue Mountains it was always my goal that there should be enough clubs in the Blue Mountains to form an Area. I commenced 3 clubs Springwood Club in 1982, Glenbrook in 1990 and Emu Heights in 1997 and together with the Blue Mountains Club at Lawson, Area 38 was formed.

The Next Step

After being with PMG, Telecom and then Telstra for over 40 years I decided to get my package and retire this year (1999). With my wife Barbara we moved from Blaxland to Salt Ash which is north of Newcastle on the Tillegerry Peninsula. Here we live on 2 acres, and have joined Twin Rivers Toastmasters Club in Raymond Terrace
