Thank you for taking the time to look over our page.  I am sure that you will find the site very worthwhile. The theme for the club this year (2006/2007) is "Commitment"  Being President of this club is a great responsibility and I have  realised that to achieve anything requires Commitment.  Without the Commitment of our members and committee the club cannot achieve its objectives.  

Our Speciality

Twin Rivers Toastmasters Club is a vibrant and happy club which welcomes visitors. We believe that the more people who attend a Toastmasters meeting the better the meeting. For those of you who would like to attend, please come along, or if you are a little apprehensive , bring a friend or partner - the more the merrier.  We will make you feel welcome and will NOT make you do or say anything that you are uncomfortable about. 

Our programs helps because...

Our programs are so structured that you are given the opportunity to improve your listening, thinking and ultimately speaking abilities. There is NO PRESSURE TO SPEAK. In fact, if you wish, you can sit and listen to everyone else. And in every meeting you will learn something new. Members research their speeches on a wide variety of topics - sometimes topics that the audience hasn't even thought of.

Types of speeches

Speeches can be informative, humorous, dramatic, poetic, persuasive, compelling, descriptive and, on occasions, interactive with the audience. When speaking impromptu Toastmasters develop self confidence, self assuredness and with a quickness of mind they never thought possible. After a few years of this sort of practice a Toastmaster feels confident when at a party, in a business situation and even at home.  

Will I fit in?

In our Toastmasters Club there are people from all walks of life who have a wide variety of interests, hobbies and sports and you are sure to find people with whom you have a great deal in common. By joining Toastmasters you will make many new friends not only in the club but also from the wider Toastmasters community.

We also extend a very warm welcome to Toastmasters from other clubs who may be on holidays, looking for a great night's entertainment or just simply want to attend.
