Parents
Traditionally a "parent" might have been loosely defined as an adult who lives with their offspring. Today many parents do not live with their children, and although they do not cease to be parents, their role in their children's lives is much harder to define. The love and concern for their child does not diminish, but their ability to be able to demonstrate these and effectively manage important parenting issues is often constrained.
Add to this the growing number of blended families and the various combinations of possible role modeling for the children of separated parents becomes more and more complex.
