Mount Isa
The City of Mount Isa with a population of about 25,000 is the largest settlement in Outback Queensland. The Guiness Book of Records notes Mount Isa as the World's largest City (in area). Its main street, Camooweal Street is 182 kilometres long.
The main minerals mined here are Copper, Lead, silver and Zinc.

The Stacks 

Sulphur Di-Oxide belches out of the copper smelter stack thankfully westward away from town. In the near future, an 80% reduction of this pollutant will be achieved through further processing and will also produce high grade fertiliser as a side product.

Lake Moondarra 

Situated about 15 kilometres north of Mount Isa City, Lake Moodarra is the area's primary water supply and is also a favourite recreational spot.

Mount Frosty 

This hole is all that remains of Moount Frosty which was mined for its Limestone deposits. The limestone was used as a catalyst in the refining process at Mount Isa Mines.
