LORIMER

William LORIMER was born about 1834. He arrived in Christchurch N.Z. in May 1860 as a steerage passenger on the Gananoque, having sailed from London. In December 1862 Jane LENNIE also arrived from London on the Echunga. William and Jane were married on 21 July 1863 in Kaiapoi. They had 13 children.

William, who had settled on Coutts' Island, Kaiapoi, died in July 1923 aged 89. His wife Jane, who had come from Lanarkshire county, died in June 1902.
