Latest Research notes:
Looking for the origins of Jane Lennie, b. circa1842.

Jane LENNIE had sailed to New Zealand in 1862. Her stated age on shipping record [1862] 20 years  (= b. circa1842) and on Marriage Certificate[1863] as being "under age". It is stated on her death certificate that she was born  in Lanarkshire to Edward LENNIE and ? BELL.

We have just searched the Scottish pre-1855 Index for the birth of Jane Lennie (various spellings) to Edward Lennie and ? Bell have been unsuccessful, as were searches for the marriage of a couple with those names.

Searches for the death of Edward Lennie and a female Lennie (nee Bell) have also failed to find anybody.

Who were Jane Lennie's ancestors ?
