Samuel and Martha ISSETT
Samuel ISSETT Jnr. was born 3 February 1844 in Dingley, Northamptonshire, England, to Samuel ISSETT and Esther WELLIS. Sam Jnr. died in Birmingham on 17 October 1922.
Samuel ISSETT married Martha MOSES on 9 October 1864 at St James Church, Wednesbury, Birmingham, England. Martha was the daughter of William MOSES and Martha LAPWORTH.
They had 6 children: Esther (married Walter Yorke), Samuel (who died in infancy), Mary Ann (married George Holt), William Alfred, Agnes (married Harry Horton) and JohnSamuel.
John Samuel ISSETT b. 4 March 1876 in Cheapside, Birmingham, England. He died on 23 October 1948 at Hawthorn. He married Edith MACDONALD on 5 July 1899 at S S Peter & Paul Church, Aston, Warwick, England. Edith was born on 1 April 1877 to George MACDONALD and Clara HOLT. Edith ISSETT died on 3 March 1937. They had 3 children: Samuel James, Alfred Donald and Edith Kathleen. The family migrated to Australia, arriving in Melbourne in 1911. In 1921 J.S. Issett, a pork butcher, established a business at 152 Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn, which became famous for "Issett pork pies and pork sausages". The business closed in 1963.
Samuel James ISSETT b. 29 October 1902, Birmingham, England, married Hilda May ROBERTS on 5 May 1934 at Holy Trinity, Kew. Jim died in 1973. Hilda died in 1976. They had 2 children, June and Valerie.
