We are happy to supply this range of Oregon Scientific weather stations in Australia. They are simply the best quality units available, they are easy to install with wireless sensors that operate over longer distances than any other brand we've tried! The signal is so strong that you can place the sensor in your refrigerator and it will still transmit over a 20 metre distance. Note, many sensors transmit over 100 metres making them ideal for large homes, farms, factories and schools etc.

BAA626 or BAR626 (shown above left)
The Easy wireless weather station from Oregon Scientific can be located on a desk or mantel or simply hung on a wall, it displays forecast weather information (sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, rainy), inside temperature (-5 to 50°C) and outside temperature (-20 to 60°C), the 8 phases of the moon (new moon, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, last quarter and waning crescent) as well as time (24 hour format), date and day-of-the-week.
Minimum and maximum temperatures can be displayed and reset as required. An alarm clock with 8 minute snooze is also included.
A remote transmitter unit sends temperature information back to the display. The splash-proof sensor can be mounted up to 30m (100') away outside the home (out of direct sunlight and rain) or elsewhere, such as in a wine cellar, greenhouse, baby's or pet's room or simply used to monitor the upstairs temperature.
Up to THREE remote temperature sensors ( THN122N, THGR122NX or THWR288N ) may be used and minimum and maximum temperatures are recorded for each. Included is; display unit, one remote unit, 9 page instruction manual (in 8 languages), 12 months warranty, 3xAA and 2xAAA batteries. Ideal for use in the home or work or whilst travelling*.
BAA628HG or BAR628HG (shown above centre)
The BAA628HG has inside and outside temperature and humidity display.
The remote wireless sensor THGR122NX provides an LCD display of temperature and humidity on the remote unit. An additional two units can be used, ideal for the green house or babies room etc.
All Oregon Scientific weather stations come with 12 months warranty, batteries and, as a bonus, we provide screwdrivers for resetting, opening and mounting the units!
BAA629HG or BAR629HG (shown above right)
The BAA629HG has inside and outside temperature and humidity display and also has a barometric pressure display and Hi-Glo backlight.
The remote wireless sensor THGR122NX provides an LCD display of temperature and humidity on the remote unit. An additional two units can be used, ideal for the green house or babies room etc.
Three types of remote sensors are available. The THN122N measures temperature only, without display, and is ideal for outside use. The THGR122NX or THGR228N with both temperature and humidity (or 'comfort level') is displayed on LCD. NOTE, the THGR122NX displays °C on the little LCD display BUT we can supply this unit with °F display and/or with a small external sensor for immersion into a fish tank etc. The THRW288N water thermo sensor provides extended temperature measurement of -30 to 80°C in air or 0 to 50°C in water. It is specifically designed for use in pools (it could also be used in a large aquarium or fish pond) and provides an extended transmission range of 100m (300').
Customer feedback: '...I am very satisfied with the performance of the Oregon BAA628HG Weather Station purchased from you... Not once have I had a loss of signal which was happening frequently with my old unit (XC0295). Also being able to know what the outside humidity is, is an extra bonus. The only downside is having to open the battery compartment everytime I want to read the maximum/minimum temperature for the day and to erase this information - this is a small price to pay for such a reliable unit!' ... Roger H. Australia. NOTE, the BAA629HG has front panel accessible min/max temperature buttons!

Bonus 4 in 1 screwdriver set (ideal for use in tight corners) with every rain gauge & weather station purchased!
RGR126 (shown above left)
The RGR126 replaces the old model RGR122 from Oregon Scientific and provides a display unit that can be wall or desk mounted and shows two displays (in inches or mm), one provides a total rainfall from a date which is recorded and the other provides daily rainfalls with a previous 9 day history available. Also provides clock and date with rain alarm and indoor and outdoor temperature displays (now with remote temperature sensor).
Comes with 4 x AA and 2 x AAA alkaline batteries and a 12 months warranty. The rain gauge operates over 100 metres (330 feet) and the remote temperature sensor over 30 metres (100 feet).
Note: you wouldn't think this could be a problem but apparently spiders can get into a rain gauge and stop it working (a spider's web can stop it operating). The RGR126 has meshed wire on all openings to stop spiders and other creepy crawlies getting in - many other rain gauges don't! On other 'cheap' units we also found that the screws rusted!
WMR200 (shown above right)
The WMR200 or WMR200A is a top-of-the-range weather station or 'Professional Weather Center' from Oregon Scientific and has the lot! It provides inside and outside temperature and humidity (a total of up to 10 rooms or locations), weather forcast with barometic pressure reading and history bar graph, wind direction and speed, rainfall indication, wind chill factor and phases of the moon are also displayed and clock/calendar with alarm is included.
An optional Ultra-Violet radiation index (UVI) monitor UVN800 is now available.
Pretty much everything you'd want to know about the weather. All this is shown on a touch screen display (LCD with backlight). All this information is provided by wire-less sensors (range 100m or 320') which can operate on internal NiMH battery packs recharged using a solar panel. Alkaline batteries are also used for backup and to power some devices (all batteries are included).
A USB port connecting cable and software allows you to upload and display the weather information on your PC. Weather information can be saved on your PC sampling at various intervals. This data is then available for displaying on a webpage or for importing into Excel or other programs.
Comes with Main display unit, Wind Vane & Anemometer (WGR800), Thermo-hygrometer (THGN801), Rain Gauge (PCR800), Solar Panel (STC800), mounting hardware (for roof or in thr ground with guy ropes and pegs), 6V 300mA adapter (240VAC supplied), 8 x AA & 2 x AAA alkaline batteries and USB cable and PC demo software.
Note, up to NINE remote wireless temperature/humidity displays/sensors THGR810 can be added to the system. This allows you to monitor other rooms (upstairs and downstairs, baby's or pet's room) or your greenhouse, wine cellar, cigar humidifier or cooler etc.
Comes with all mounting hardware (poles, ropes etc.), batteries and 12 months warranty. To enlarge the picture above - click here. Colour may vary to that shown.
Besides being able to monitor up to 10 rooms (the WMR928 could only monitor 3 rooms), the WMR200 can also monitor UV radiation and it captures data at intervals of 1, 2, 5, 10 or 15 minutes for up to 1 year! The data can then be uploaded to your PC when it is most convenient. i.e. after you come back from holidays or, if the unit is in some remote location, once a month or as required.

Further information on the BAA626 or BAR626: The display unit measures 127x116x55mm or 5x4.6x2.2" (HxWxD), requires 3 x AA alkaline batteries and displays indoor temperature from -5 to 50°C (23 to 122°F) with a resolution of 0.1°. The remote sensor measures 92x60x20mm or 3.6x2.4x0.8", needs 2 x AAA alkaline batteries (which last 6 months), and measures temperatures between -20 and +60°C (-4 to 140°F) with a resolution of 0.1°. The remote sensor can just sit on any flat surface or it can be hung on a hook/screw on the wall or ceiling. The sensor transmits every 40 seconds at 433MHz over a clear distance of 30 metres or 100 feet maximum. This distance is reduced through metal or concrete etc. I found the unit great in summer, to let me know when to turn off the cooling system and open the doors and windows. In winter, it'll let me know whether to put on a jacket before venturing outside (or when to put a jacket on the dog). *Being also an alarm clock it will be useful for travelling. The remote sensor can be placed on the balcony to measure the outside temperature and the alarm can wake you up in the morning. Remember, however, the weather predition requires 12 to 24 hours in the one place for accuracy. Finally, instead of just buying an extra sensor for upstairs or the wine cellar - why not buy two BAA626 weather stations? Or use the same remote sensors with the RGR126 and WMR928NX units! The two sensors can be monitored by each display unit, one can be placed in the lounge and the other in a bedroom or study! Note, the display can be set to automatically scroll between the temperatures of all remote sensors (up to 3) or set to display only the one temperature - pressing one button toggles between them. Of course, minimum and maximum readings are available for each sensor.
Operational Tips on all BAA / BAR units: (a) Don't forget about the 2 buttons and the switch in the battery compartment. The switch sets °C or °F display mode and one pushbutton displays the minimum and maximum temperature memories and another recessed button resets the unit after a battery change. (b) The day of the week may be displayed in (E) English, (F) French, (D) German, (I) Italian or (S) Spanish. (c) If using one remote sensor with two display units, setup BOTH displays at the same time to register the sensor on the selected channel (1, 2 or 3). (d) The up/down pushbuttons are used to set the time & date etc. but are also used to scroll forwards and backwards through the calendar displaying the phases of the moon. This is useful when planning a night hike or astronomy lesson or when observing wildlife animal activity (and other research). It can also be used to check the lunar or Chinese calendar. To see an animation of the moon phases - click here. The phases of the moon may also be useful in gardening according to old-age advise! Plant your seeds or mow your lawn according to the phases of the moon?!?! See the 9AM program by clicking here.
Operational Notes on all units: (a) The display unit may show dashes (---) if no signal is received from the remote sensor. This may be because the sensor is out-of-range or because something (another wireless unit, TV, computer, security system etc.) is interfering with the signal - readings will automatically resume once the interference stops! (b) If you wish to monitor the refrigerator or freezer temperature place the remote sensor in a re-sealable plastic bag. It is best placed on a door shelf, because of the metal casing of the frig the signal strength will be reduced. Note, if left in cold environments too long the batteries will be affected (note, they usually recover once they warm up). Use a good quality alkaline or lithium batteries in extreme temperatures. (c) If the temperature is lower than the minimum (out of range) then 'LLL' will be displayed, if the temperature is higher than the maximum 'HHH' will be displayed. (d) If 'HHH' is observed on current (day 0) rainfall. Please press and hold 'SINCE' on the RGR126 or 'MEMORY' on the WMR928 to reset the reading in order to avoid a misleading display of the total rainfall. (e) To test the rain gauge, remove the tape inside the unit, insert the batteries and then wiggle it back and forth tipping the bucket to simulate what happens when rain falls. (f) To test the temperature and humidity sensor, breath heavily onto the small holes/opening at the bottom of the sensor and watch the temperature and humidity rise. (g) We've had one report in Australia of galahs or cockatoos damaging the connecting cables of the WMR928 weather station sensors. Enclosing the cables in plastic tubing may help prevent this!
If interested in recording ambient temperatures on a computer check out the EL-USB-1 (or EL-USB-2 for temperature, humidity and dew point) or if measuring temperatures from -50 to 750 °C take a look at the low-cost QM1538. Or for temperatures between -50 and 1300 °C (including differential temperatures) check out the Q1190 data recording DMM. For a low-cost temperature display for -50 to 150 °C with alarm - Click here.
Accuracy of Oregon Scientific devices: Temperature: 0 to 40°C +/- 1°C (otherwise +/- 2°C). Humidity: 40 to 80% +/- 5% (otherwise +/- 7%). Barometric Pressure: 795 to 1050mb +/- 7mb. Rain Rate: 0 to 15 mm/hr +/-1 mm/hr (otherwise +/- 10%). Wind Speed: activation speed 2m/sec, 2 to 10m/sec +/- 1m/sec (otherwise +/- 10%). Wind Direction: 0° to 347° +/- 8°, blind spot 347° to 359° +/- 18°.
XC0295 weather stations: We sold these weather stations for many years but these have been discontinued and we were not happy with the quality of the replacement units. The XC0295 units had some great features but they often lost signal with the remote unit and we also discovered that some old 4.5V remote units only operated on 3V - one battery was never connected! That means that many of our customers have been throwing away good batteries for years! If any of our customers have this old unit and would like to upgrade to the Oregon Scientific weather station please let me know and I'll provide a special discount. Besides these problems we also found that the screws on the remote sensor rusted and that the minimum temperature was not recorded if it went below zero degrees ... this is why we now only sell Oregon Scientific and make less profit from it!
I WROTE THE FOLLOWING BECAUSE I'M DISGUSTED AT THE POOR QUALITY OF SOME CHINESE MADE PRODUCTS!
All stock of the RR1050 universal remote control has been returned to the importer. A fault with the backlight on this unit means that they are unacceptable to Procon Technology. I was hoping that the importer would withdraw them from sale and replace them with new 'working' units but unfortunately they seem to think that "most customers won't notice (this defect)". We are currently looking around for a unit and a supplier that we can trust! It is becoming increasingly frustrating that CHINESE MADE PRODUCTS have such variablity in quality. When they work they often work well and represent good value for money, BUT we have had instances where the entire shipment is 'unacceptable' in quality and have returned them. I recommend that all customers do the same - DON'T PUT UP WITH INFERIOR CHINESE (PRC) PRODUCTS! Where possible we avoid 'no-name' brand products and prefer to purchase products from Japanese, Taiwanese, Singaporean or Malaysian companies.
Disclaimer: The above specifications may be subject to change without notice. The manufacturer and Procon Technology hold no responsibility for damage expenses, lost profits, or any other claims arising from the use of these products. As with any weather forecast, 100% accuracy cannot be guaranteed. The estimated accuracy level is 75%. In climates that experience sudden changes in weather (e.g. sunny to rainy), the weather station predictions will be more accurate compared to use in a climate where there is little change (e.g. almost always sunny).
