The fischertechnik turtle or buggy kit (30632) constructs the turtle project from the Profi Computing Kit (30330). It provides a fascinating low-cost introduction to the world of computer control.
The example software (30632WIN or 30632WINS) for this kit is written in QBASIC, TurboPascal, C and VisualBASIC for Windows. Also provided on these disks is WINDOWS software ready-to-run for the turtle including programs that allow you to train the turtle to execute a sequence of up to 999 steps! Other programs allow the turtle to; find the brightest source of light in the room, negotiate an obstacle, follow a path drawn on the floor or do other exciting things. Note, some projects require the Turtle Extension Pack (30632-2).
Included in the kit is; 3 mini-motors and gearboxes, 4 micro-switches, 1.2m ribbon cable and 28 pole plug unit. Assembly sheet and an English manual of 22 pages.
As a bonus, you also receive a fischertechnik container and baseplate for storing your components.
The turtle extension pack (30632-2) provides parts for adding a pen holder for drawing interesting patterns, a bumper switch for detecting obstacles and a read head for following a line drawn in the floor.

Other software available for this kit includes; LLWIN a flowchart style language (30403 or 30407), PC-LOGO from Harvard-Associates (30555) and 32 bit software with source code in VisualBASIC v5 (30521WIN32). Finally, a special adapter (30402AD) is available to allow the serial interface unit (30402) to connect to the turtle and other projects in the Profi Computing Kit. Software is now available to drive the Turtle from this new interface.
