Now with twin flourescent work-light and 12V lighter socket for powering all sorts of devices!
These super high power rechargeable halogen spotlights are the brightest we have ever seen! Not only great for fishing, camping, 4WD'ing but also ideal for patrol car torch, observation point (lookout), emergency services, police and rescue services etc. These torches are like holding a car headlight in your hand, they are that bright that they can be seen for miles (or kilometres). You'll need sunscreen and sunglasses with these babies! I know one guy that bought the ST3308 just so he could have the brightest light in the street - in fact he could light up the whole street! I like to take things apart (it's a habit I have since childhood) and check them out. I must say these are beautifully made with quality fittings and come in a colourful box which, when opened, smells like a new car - don't you just love that smell? Each torch comes with a SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) battery, 240V mains charger and car charger...which plugs into the cigarette lighter socket. Each torch is designed to operate for around 30 minutes (the ST3308 lasts over 60 minutes on low beam and over 12 hours using the worklight). The ST3300 has a unique swivel handle that allows it to be held as a spotlight. The ST3308 is too big for that, but all units (as illustrated) can sit on the ground (at many different angles) to provide a general floodlight when repairing the car, boat or whatever. The ST3300 is splash-proof and can be used in wet weather conditions (they should always be checked and cleaned if used in very wet conditions). All units come with 12 months warranty* and spare lamps and batteries are available if needed.
ST3308 JOHNLITE SUPER SEARCHEYE (above) - Provides 10,000,000 Candlepower 10MCP output from a 180mm (7") lens. Weighs 4.1Kg (9lbs). Length 36cm (14.2") and 23cm (9") dia. Powered by one 12V 7Ah SLA battery. Uses super powerful H4 halogen lamp, has two light settings (dim or bright). Our recommendation is to replace the lamp with the new Xenon Halogen lamp (SL-3225) for around the same Candle Power, continuous use and 60 minutes of operation on high brightness! Comes with adjustable shoulder strap and easy open battery compartment - the battery can be replaced in a couple of minutes (see comments below). Due to the need to provide ventilation to the lens, this torch is not weather-proof and is not recommended for use in very wet conditions. Also provided is a 8 Watt twin flourescent work light (reading or camping light) on a rotating head easy positioning and which operates for up to 14 hours. Note, this work lamp can be used whilst the car charger is plugged in. The torch also provides a 12VDC lighter socket. e.g. power your radio, TV, laptop computer, portable electric stove or operate your car frig. or inverter etc. Use it to recharge batteries, small torches, mobile phones, CB radios and so on. You could theoretically recharge the ST3300 from the ST3308!!! This torch is better than the ARLEC RT10000 (also made by Johnlite) and similar units sold in other stores.

NOTE: a 6V SLA battery charger would cost $20 and a 6V 4Ah battery costs $20 at most electronics shops. So I cannot emphasize further what great value the ST3300 torch represents! We can also sell you an adapter (SL3226) which allows you to recharge standard SLA batteries using these chargers (mains and car).

Customer feedback:
'I recently purchased the Search Cop-2 lantern whilst on a trip to Sweden. Since returning to the USA, my light has generated intense interest among people who have seen it. We are all impressed with the superior optics/reflector the light has. From my house, and I'm in a well lit neighborhood adjacent to an industrial area...I can shine a spot on a industrial shop building 3 blocks away...lighting up the siding on it. That, my friends...is nothing short of IMPRESSIVE!!!' F. Korhonen, USA.
Further information: 1. The ST3300 (manufacturer's code JML2931) uses a standard 6 Volt 55 Watt H3 lamp (SL3221). This may be replaced by a 25W lamp (SL3215 - no longer available) for extended battery life and continuous operation. Comes with 6 Volt 300mA 240VAC mains charger and 600mA car charger (12VDC, negative earth). 2. The ST3304 (manufacturer's code JML2933) and the ST3305 (JML2997/JML2998) use a special Philips 12 Volt 100 Watt H3 lamp (SL3222). This may also be replaced by a 55W lamp (SL3224) for extended battery life and continuous operation. Comes with 12 Volt 350mA 240VAC mains charger and 600mA car charger. 3. The ST3308 uses a 12 Volt 100/55 Watt H4 lamp (SL3223). This may also be replaced by a Xenon 60/55W lamp (SL3225) for extended battery life and continuous operation. Comes with 12 Volt 300mA 240VAC mains charger and 5A car charger. 4. The ST3304/5/6 torches now comes with a 10A car fuse in the battery compartment. If the torch doesn't work, please check this fuse! A fuse is also located in each car charger plug ... only replace with same type! The ST3308 has a special 10A re-settable fuse to protect the lighter socket outlet on the torch! 5. All units use standard SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) batteries. This type of battery is similar to a car battery but have a sealed construction so they can be used in any position, have a high discharge rate (for high powered applications) and have a long life. SLA batteries do not suffer from the 'memory effect' that NiCd batteries do. They can, and should, be re-charged frequently. Do not allow these batteries to remain discharged for long periods of time! 6. *The 12 months warranty does not cover the lamp, everything else is covered by warranty provided it is used as per instructions. 7. WARNINGS: Never block lens or reflector during operation. Do not shine directly into eyes. To avoid damage to unit, replace lamp with one of the same or lower wattage only. Before opening, switch off, unplug the charger and allow the torch to cool. On the ST3308 we recommend you disconnect and remove the battery before opening!
Operational Tips: 1. Remember, these torches are not designed for continuous operation - switch off when not needed. For extended, continuous use replace the lamp with a lower wattage type. This can be done in a matter of minutes without any special tools (a small Phillips head screw driver may be needed). Note, allow the unit to cool down before opening and never touch the lamp's glass with bare hands - use a clean cloth. On the ST3308 turn and lift the lens and lamp out carefully. Record the 3 connections to the lamp and then disconnect, unclip and remove the lamp etc. 2. Charge the battery prior to initial use. Charging time takes up to 26 hours using the mains charger and 6 hours using the car charger. The battery does not need to be fully re-charged before it is used but will provide increased operating time if it is. Always charge the battery every 2 months even if not used. 3. On the ST3300 no indicator is provided to show charging, however you can tell when the ST3300 charger is operational because a click is heard when it is plugged in or out (that's an internal relay switching off the torch's lamp). Note, always switch off the torch whilst recharging it. 4. Replacing the batteries in the torches is a simple matter of following the instructions given. The adhesive rubber can be removed from the existing battery and attached to the new battery or you can purchase some adhesive rubber or foam strips from your hardware store. Note, ensure that the same polarity is used (red to +, black to - terminal) overwise damage may occur. 5. The ST3300 torch comes with screw holes for hunging on a wall or this may be used to mount the spotlight on a suitable swivel base. 6. The ST3300 torch has an easy to operate lever switch that can be conveniently used with a gloved hand. The ST3308 has small rocker switches that are a bit more fiddly. 7. Only the ST3308's light can be operated from your car lighter socket using the PP1998 adapter. The battery can be removed for this and reduces the weight by 2.5Kg. It is possible to have one person carrying the torch and another carrying the battery in the HB6360 bag. It is recommended that the lamp also be replaced with the SL3225. Note, the ST3308 torch has been designed to allow re-charging from mains or car through the one socket. A red light turns on whilst charging and the spotlight cannot be operated. 8. To allow the battery in the ST3308 to be replaced quickly you may need to permanently remove the internal brackets held by four phillips head screws and stick some adhesive rubber strips on the cover to stop the battery jiggling about. That way all you need is a coin to remove the two outside screws on the cover and the battery can be replaced in minutes! 9. If you have more than one type of torch, please carefully label all chargers so that there is NO possibility of using the wrong one! 10. Note, all these torches use Halogen lamps that operate at high temperature and the glass bulb may crack if not clean. When replacing the lamp, do not touch the glass! Always clean the glass with alcohol (methylated spirits) before turning on!
