Procon Technology has released a low-cost (under US$40), DIY construction kit for digital I/O control from the printer port of any IBM-PC compatible computer. The PT5230 Starter Kit provides construction details and all necessary parts for building a PCB board with eight SPDT relay outputs and eight 12VDC opto-isolated inputs. The connecting cable to the printer port is also included in the kit and a 12VDC adapter, to power the board, is available separately if required.

Up to eight of these boards may be connected to one printer port to provide 64 inputs and 64 outputs. Applications include; watering control systems, security systems, robotics and model control systems. In fact, applications are only limited by your imagination!

Comprehensive software examples are supplied on diskette for many languages in DOS and Windows. Including example programs providing real-time control under Windows. Our Programmable Logic Control (PLC) language also makes it easy to get most projects up-and-running fast in simple relay-ladder-logic format. Procon Technology also manufactures industrial control boards for digital and analogue control applications for those who don't wish to build their own. This system expands to 120 outputs and 128 inputs!
