I
was encouraged by the events of the day but they seemed to confirm my 'suspicions' that
this was something quite outside the realm of my understanding and I would have to wait
for more revelation. It didn't look like a simple healing - babies spoke of long,
slow processes to me.... more long, slow processes... sigh...
The next five
months brought interesting changes. The most influential one was that we started attending
a church on Sunday evenings where prayer was a high priority and was offered at every
meeting. Having found it difficult to convince people that they could be effective
instruments of God's healing power by praying with me, this was a huge encouragement.
The first time I
went forward to receive prayer I was thrilled when the person praying said they saw a
picture of a baby curled up in foetal position, and then prayed that the baby would grow
and develop until it could walk. What a confirmation! But... what of?!!
The following
weeks brought some of the answer. Mainly, I believe, as a result of the ongoing prayers of
others and the emphasis on teaching what the Bible has to say about such things as healing,
faith and prayer, I started hearing God's voice very clearly and it was all good
news! He was telling me very plainly that the baby was my spiritual life and it was brought
to birth through faith, and faith was the stimulus to growth that would eventually lead to
this baby getting up and walking.
I continued to
receive regular prayer and listened intently for God's voice. I wanted to co-operate with
everything He was doing - and He seemed to be unusually busy!
