Specialized Illustrated Stamp Album for Russia and Russian Area
R U S S I A
This web site is dedicated to those serious collectors of Russian stamps who prefer to see their stamps mounted on illustrated pages.
To create an illustrated album of Russia was a daunting task. However this has now been accomplished!
As a result of many years of dedicated work the first part of the Russia Illustrated Stamp Album is complete.
This album contains pages of the Russian Empire, Russian Republic, Russian Soviet Federal Socialist Republic, Soviet Union and Russian Federation.
Our project began due to a frustration of a lack of detailed albums on Russia for the serious collector. All other albums previously and now currently on the market are issued by philatelic firms according to their own catalogues using their strict rules as what stamps have the right to be considered as postage stamps and what have not. A lot of contradiction is going on in this field.
However, nobody can know better than the country of collecting interest. Thus, as a basis for this album specialized Russian and Soviet catalogues of postage stamps were used.
The numbering system is given according to SPA (Soviet Philatelic Association) Catalogue. However, the numbers are not needed because the album itself is fully illustrated and can be used as a catalogue.
This album is truly specialized. It includes perforation, paper and watermark varieties, major errors and cliche defects (including overprints). The album hosts all stamps issued by the Russian and Soviet Post, including the reprints of stamps of the late 40s - early 50s which were made in late 50s, and also imperforate stamps of the 1980s which are extremely popular among stamp collectors.
Needless to say that all sheetlets are hosted as well, including those rare ones issued by Mezhdunarodnaya Kniga.
The stamps with inverted/shifted overprints and background are not included in the album, but are available on separate pages on request.

A brochure containing reduced copy of COMPLETE album (16 illustrations per A4 page) is available for US$ 10 (posted worldwide) or AU$ 10 (within Australia). A sample page will be also enclosed.
Generally, stamps which were issued only as se-tenant are presented as such. In cases where one part of a sheet contains one stamp, and the second part contains another then both single stamps and se-tenant are hosted in the album (example 1958 Tchaikovsky set).
Some rare imperforate stamps which could be fraudulently made out of imperforate mini sheets are given in pairs or strips of three (1937 1 rub. Aviation Exhibition).
Stamps with tabs in the corner of the sheet (example Paintings of 1974-75, Hermitage series of 1982-85) are given as a single stamp and as a block of four (of course sheetlets of 16 stamps of the Hermitage series are also presented).
ALL stamps and sheetlets are illustrated.
Album pages are printed on high quality acid free 150 g/m2 paper. The page size is 215x297 mm (8.5x11.7 in).
To assemble your pages in the binder we recommend the highly practical, reliable and (most importantly) safe practice of putting pages into clear plastic sleeves. Such sleeves protect the larger stamps and sheets from accidental damage whilst turning the pages.
If you possess some unique varieties of stamps and you want them to be hosted in the album, please send us your request and we will try to rearrange the album specially for you. So your album will be unique.
