JOHN M PATTERSON
Born and raised in the country town of Canowindra N.S.W. John has
lived all his life in the country.His first job was on a property Belabula
farms where he spent a year then attended Hawkesbury Agricultural College
and on completion of his course joined the Soil Conservation Service and
was posted to Manilla N.S.W. and then to Barraba.After 5 years he commenced
as an Earthmoving Contractor and conducted this business for 22 years.
He then moved to a staff position at the Hawksbury Agricultural College
and became an active member of The Richmond Players and performed in many
of their productions including the parts of The King and I, Doolittle in
My Fair Lady, De Breck in South Pacific and Fagin in Oliver.
All his life he has been a devotee of Country Music going back to his 9th
birthday when he was given two Harry Torani records.After moving back to
Tamworth in 1992 he was able to become involved in the Country Music scene
and recorded a cassette with Nashgrill Recording Studios.He regularly performs
in the Country Music Jamboree at the RSL Club on thursday evenings and
has appeared in the Golden Oldies as part of Tamworth on Parade 1997 at
Rooty Hill, The Spirit of Tamworth at Young, and Ettalong Bowling Club.He
has also performed in Charity Concerts in Tamworth and Morriset.
The CD "Sweet Memories" is his first and was recorded at Gary
Brown's Hilltop Digital Recording Studio in Tamworth and features a composition
of John's son Mark "Sweet Memories" who also provides the guitar
backing while another son Gerard provides the music and vocal backing of
"Ill Take You Home Again Kathleen".
