Biography
Years of constant travelling,
twelve successful albums, a string of hit singles and endless awards and accolades that
just keep coming, has well and truly earned this entertaining and popular artist a
prominent place amongst the cream of Australian entertainers. Craig left his panel
beating job in 1986 to concentrate on a musical career. His natural appeal and ability was
soon recognised and in only a very short time the beginning of a successful career had
begun and is still going strong today.
Craig's popularity and rapport with audiences of all ages was evident at a very early
stage and owing to this ever increasing popularity the Craig Giles Friends and Supporters
Club was launched in March 1989. In 1996 the fan club gained international status
and is now one of the strongest fan clubs in Australia. Craig is a big believer in
looking after the people who support him, and whenever possible, makes himself available
to talk to his fans and sign autographs. Craig is acclaimed by media and fans alike as 'Mr Versatile', owing to his immense and varied
repertoire, which spans the spectrum of Tender Ballads through to all
styles of Country and on to Rockabilly and 50's-60's Rock and Roll.
Craig is an energetic performer with an inimitable style and quick humour. He tours extensively and has performed everywhere from the Opera House in Sydney to Wrest Point Casino in Hobart, to the Hokonui Hills in New Zealand. He is an adaptable entertainer who is just as comfortable presenting his Cabaret style floor show on the city club circuit as to when he is performing at outdoor venues such as festivals and rodeos. Craig’s professionalism, enthusiasm and friendly attitude has earnt him respect throughout the music industry.
