Biography
Barry is a singer, storyteller and a songwriter.
Since his early working life as a stockman in the bush he has had a love for country
music. He was first introduce to a guitar while serving "Confinement to
Barracks" in the RAAF and has rarely had a guitar out of his hand since. After
entertaining for many years in and around Sydney in hotels and clubs, Barry went on to be
a truck driver, his guitar travelling with him and never far away.
Barry has been in country music for many years but has only been recording and writing more seriously for the last four years. His songs are based on his life that has been full and covered many jobs and experiences.
He has won many awards and was a finalist in the Bush Balladeer Star Quest in Tamworth in 2001.
Barry released his fourth CD "My Squatters Chair Country Songs", of all original songs in 2003. . After the release of the album, with his wife Lin, Barry travelled to five states promoting the album and doing radio interviews and is now getting quite a following of fans. With the overwhelming response and requests for more a four track EP "Scrubber Bull, Hell and Sweet Memories" was released and launched at Desree Ilona Crawford’s Country Music Jamboree at Noosa.
With country music being so near to Barry’s heart, he will continue to write and sing his songs whenever and wherever he can and is looking forward to another big year and meeting the many people who are enjoying his style of music and his shows.
