Biography
Danish born Connie Kis migrated with
her family to Australia when she was only two years old.
She first began learning the banjo-mandolin at the age of eight
and by the time she was eleven, Connie Kis was performing at local town hall concerts and
on guest spots with Australian Country Music legend, Slim Dusty when his travelling show
came to her then home town of Bourke in New South Wales (NSW).
After gaining a degree in both Economics and Psychology from the
University of NSW and working in Sydney in the field of Special Education for two years,
Connie Kis re-located to live in Perth, Western Australia. At the same time she began pursuing a profession in her first
love, music; performing as the lead singer in several bands, trios and duos.
This ladys headline and special
guest musical performances have taken her to festivals in Australia and overseas
countries... two recording sessions and a short tour in the USA ... performances at The
Australian Festival and CMA's Music festival in Nashville TN, with a special
invitation to return. She was recently announced a finalist for the Best
Western Australian Country Music Female vocalist and will be performing at the Boyup Brook
Country Music Festival in her home state in February 2006 when the winner will be
announced.
