Discography
Make a Joyful Noise AMBCD 9602Biography
There are only basically two in
The Ambassadors that are the foundation members of the group, Brian Willmott and Neville
Adcock. They started singing locally as a duo in 1982 and have been involved in various
tours mainly in North Queensland. They sang in various churches from Brisbane to Cairns
and the tablelands and inland to some of the coal mining areas.
When they recorded their first cassette in 1989 they were joined by various other instrumentalists who had been part of the touring group. On their second cassette recorded the following year, they were joined by Allan Wissmann (Bass Guitar and Bass Vocals) who has featured with them on all subsequent recordings. Various other local keyboard players and other instruments have been included in later recordings also. Bass vocals on some songs are provided by John Ramage, who plays bass guitar and has written quite a number of gospel songs, some of which are included on the CD.
Brian Willmott - Born in 1940 he plays guitar and sings his has been involved in Country Music for many years, he first became involved in country gospel after meeting the Lord in 1978. Performed solo until he was introduced to Nev Adcock at t C.B.M.C. Their mutual interest in country gospel led to the formation of The Ambassadors, and since that time they have performed as a duo, combining with various other performers to present country gospel at various centres throughout coastal Queensland from Brisbane to Cairns.
Neville Adcock - Born in 1935, country music has been Nev's passion as long as he can remember. He took up playing the guitar while he was in hospital in 1958 following a car accident, which resulted in Paraplegia, confining him to a wheelchair for life. After returning to Gympie he was involved with the Harmony Ranch program on 4GY singing country with the group until the program was terminated. Most of the members formed a concert party, affiliated with the local RSL and they presented concerts around the Gympie area for many years. He is a life member of the Gympie Country Music Club, which he helped to start in 1968. Neville has Ambassador recording studio in Bundaberg where they produce The Ambassador recordings.
