Biography
Clelia Adams was born in Italy and migrated to Australia with her family in the post war migration in the 50’s. Clel grew up in Orange in Central Western NSW and at the age of 17 moved to Sydney to work for Go-Set Magazine, the premier Australian pop paper of its day, as girl-friday and music journalist. She joined WEA Records (Sydney) in Product and Marketing before heading to London, Europe and Canada.

Clelia moved to Tamworth in the mid 70’s, drawn to the country music scene there and quickly became entrenched in the music, via her all girl trio SKARLETT (with Kate McCarthy and Jacqui Glynn) and singer with the ground-breaking New England Rangers which was the first country rock outfit in a rock ‘n roll town and spawned the careers of Pixie Jenkins (fiddle) and Lawrie Minson (guitar, dobro, banjo, lap steel)

Clelia's music career took a big nose-dive around 1990 when she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and had a long and arduous rehabilitation period, which included recovery of memory in the language and learning centres. She had to learn to sing and do things all over again. After 8 years on the road with guitarist Gary Brown she chose to move and start all over again on the far-north coast of NSW, an area Clel has always loved. "It’s the best move I’ve ever made. Its God’s own country here and I’ve never looked back."

In l996, Clelia recorded her first solo CD "Fine Company" as a statement of progress in recovery from the tumor and to her delight it received rave reviews, entwining country, blues, R & B and jazz.

Then, in 2001, Clelia recorded "Bring It On", once again combining musical genres, with its roots firmly in Country, Western Swing, Honky Tonk and Rockabilly.   "Bring It On" is a classic country album, combining timeless country melodies from the 40’s and 50’s by Jimmy Rogers, Hank Williams and Bob Wills, through to modern contemporary country by John Prine, Tom Waits, KD Lang, Lloyd Price and George Strait.
