Jazz DanceJazz Dance is done to a variety of musical styles from the latest top 40 dance music, blues, classical etc. Jazz Dance requires a very flexible body, "isolated" joints that can be moved indepently, and an ability on the dancer's part to perform exaggerated movement stylishly with a good deal of flare. Good Jazz dancers take at least 2 years to get their body into shape. They also wear leotards and dance bare feet or with jazz dance shoes. If you don't do it to perform, then do it for the exercise it is fantastic for improving footwork for other sports like football, soccer, touch, netball etc. It's great!
