LAGGAN BAPTISMS REEL NO 102012
May 5th 1852
William Davidson in Gaskmore and his wife Margaret McPherson, had a
son born upon the 21st september, 1851. Baptised name Donald.
OBITUARY - WELLINGTON TIMES, MONDAY, 25TH MAY, 1914.
On Friday, Donald Davidson, a highly respected resident of the town,
died at the hospital at the age of 62, the cause of death being
paralysis. It appears that on Saturday week, the deceased, who was
a very heavy man, mounted a ladder to attend to a pipe when part of
the ladder gave way and he sustained a nasty fall. He was taken to
hospital, where he was operated upon, but paralysis supervened and
he died as stated. The late Mr. Davidson was a native of Scotland.
He leaves a widow and a grown-up family of two sons and three
daughters. The burial took place in the Presbyterian portion of the
cemetery on Saturday, when his Funeral was attended by a large
number of friends of the family. The Prayers at the graveside were
said by the Rev. H.R. Grassick, the Funeral arrangements being in the hands of
Mr. C.J.Shakespeare.
