Utility program to assist in using the Offroad Navigator plug-in for TOMTOM GPS
Purpose
Program to convert a single map image file to a number of smaller files
suitable for the "Offroad Navigator" plug-in for Tom Tom.
The Offroad Navigator plug-in was written by roussillat, and can be found at
http://www.webazar.org/tomtom/offroad.php?lang=uk.
Operation
1. Use "Options" to configure the program. Option settings are remembered
between program uses.
a. Select the correct target Tom Tom model.
b. Select whether you wish to allow maps to overlap. Usually, the
rightmost and bottommost maps will be partial, and have empty space. This empty
space can be evenly distributed by overlapping the maps.
2. Load the image using File|Open. It will accept any image file format that
Windows understands.
3. Calibrate the image (not necessary for OziExplorer files)
a. Select "Point 1" on the map, and enter the Long/Lat.
b. Select the "Point 2" tab and select Point 2 on the map, and enter
Long/Lat.
c. Press the "Calibrate" button, and it will calculate the top left and
bottom right extents of the map.
You can enter these manually if you know them, but calibrate is much more
easy/accurate.
During this process you can zoom and pan the image so as to set points very
accurately.
4. Using "File|Export", produce a series of bitmap files, and a config.txt file,
that is compatible with Offroad. These files will be created in the /Offroad/
folder where the source image is located.
5. Copy these files to the /offroad/maps folder on your Tom Tom.
