Yamba – 25th – 30th October 2015
The 2015 spring tour will be a six day/five night tour based in Yamba and touring the Clarence Valley. We travel by Countrylink train to Grafton, then Countrylink coach to Yamba to spend five nights in the Aston Motel in Yamba. We spend the next four days visiting Iluka, Balllina, Grafton, Maclean and other points of interest in the Grafton valley before returning to Sydney by Countrylink. A feature will be the Jacaranda Festival in Grafton.
Day 1 Sunday 25th October- We travel by Countrylink train to Grafton then Countrylink coach to Yamba. Details of the fares and group booking number to be advised. Your accommodation is at the Aston Motel. Evening meal is 7pm in the Norfolk Bistro at the Bowling Club.
Day 2 Monday 26th October– Tour of Yamba including morning tea at the Yamba Museum. Then on to Angourie to see their Blue and Geen Pools and for some rainforest and beach scenery, and the boutique Silk & Sand Gallery.
Day 3 Tuesday 27th October – Evans Head Airpark Museum on the former RAAF Base, followed by a BBQ lunch at the House with no Steps at Alstonville. On to Victoria Park Nature Reserve and returning via New Italy.
Day 4 Wednesday 28th October– Travel to Lawrence via Maclean. See the early days of broadcasting at the museum in the former ABC 2NR Transmitter building. Lunch at the Lawrence Pub.
Day 5 Thursday 29th October- After a morning visit to an olive farm we travel to Grafton for a prawn and chicken lunch in a Grafton park by the Clarence River. Jacaranda Drive and Fig Tree Lane. Then we stop and visit the quaint village of Ulmarra.
Day 6 Friday 30th October – Transfer to Grafton by Countrylink coach to join the train home, arriving at Strathfield at 7:57pm.
The tour is priced at $660.00 per person twin share, ($175.00 single supplement) The rail fare to Yamba is $122.00 per person for seniors. $100.00 deposit is required in February
