Tour and Concert at Conservatorium
This month we will visit the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, which opened its doors to students in 1916. We will start with a guided tour, conducted by a team of volunteers. Lunch will be at the local canteen (sample menu available for inspection, or bring your own). We will then proceed to the Verbrugghen hall (named after the founding director) for a lunchtime concert, performed on this occasion by students from the Jazz Unit.
We will meet at Epping station to catch the 9:35 train from platform 5, changing at Wynyard for Circular Quay, from where it is a 17 minute walk to the Conservatorium for an 11:00 am start.
Cost: $15.00 for the tour. Lunch at cost (modest), and entry to concert by donation.
Bookings: John Peters: home: 9869 1957; mob: 0414 452 565.
Please note this outing is on a Wednesday, to coincide with the concert.
