Guided tour of May Gibbs Nutcote
This month we will visit Nutcote, the Neutral Bay waterfront home of May Gibbs for 44 years. She is best known today for her iconic childrens story "The Complete Adventures of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie", featuring two gumnut babies and their escape from the big bad Banksia men. An entheusiastic team of guides will charm us with the spirit of the house, which has been restored to show it as it would have been in the 1920s and early 1930s.
At the conclusion of the tour a sandwich lunch with tea and coffee will be provided.
We will meet at Epping station to catch the 9:12 train from platform 2, changing at Central for Circular Quay to catch the 10:20 ferry from wharf 4.
Cost: $17.50 for the tour and lunch.
Bookings: John Peters: home: 9869 1957; mob: 0414 452 565
Please note this outing is on a Wednesday, as Nutcote is not open on Mondays.
