Visit to Powerhouse Discovery Centre Castle Hill

This month we will take one of the three guided tours offered at the Powerhouse discovery centre at Castle Hill. The Powerhouse Museum has been collecting for more than 125 years. Like most museums, only a small part of its collection is exhibited at any one time. About 50 000 objects are held at the Powerhouse Discovery Centre in Castle Hill, their state-of-the-art storage and collection care facility. For years, this treasure trove was off limits to the public. Now, visitors can go behind-the scenes of one of Australia’s largest and most diverse museum collections.

Please note that, as the Centre is not open on Mondays, this visit will be on a Tuesday.

After the tour we will lunch at the Castle Hill RSL club, at our own expense. They offer light snacks from around $8 and mains from around $16.

Transport will be by private vehicle. There is plenty of parking at both the Centre and the RSL. We should assemble at the Center by 10:30 am.

Cost for the vist to the Centre: $10.
