September Walk

Our walk for September will be through parts of the Blue Mountains suburb of Leura and its beautiful gardens to the Everglades Gardens. There we can enjoy our lunch and view the gardens/tour the Historic Heritage House. Note that there is an entry fee for the grounds and the Heritage House of $5.00 for Seniors/Pensioners.

We assemble at Epping station on Thursday 24 September 2009 for the 8.24am train to Strathfield. There we switch to the 9.08am train for Leura station, arriving there at 10.56am. From there we commence our walk, choosing to take either an easy walk or a more difficult one but with a broader range of attractive suburban streets and gardens on view as we walk to our destination.

On arrival at the Everglades Gardens, we can enjoy our BYO lunch or partake of a light lunch – cost up to say $15 per head – and following take a walk around the house and gardens which should by then be coming into full bloom.

After completion of our visit, we walk back to Leura station to catch the 2.38pm train back to Strathfield and home. (an earlier train if so desired).
