We commence this year with a difference that might appeal to all members of our club. On Thursday 22 March 2007, we will assemble at Epping Station for the 8.24 am train to Central and then by bus to Victoria Barracks where we will enter as a group. Tea/coffee will be available on arrival for a token fee. A brief entry by the Australian Army Band (if not otherwise engaged) will commence proceedings before we break into small groups for a guided tour of the barracks (approximately 1.5 hours). Those not joining the walkers may return to Central by bus 378 (every 10 minutes) while the rest commence an easy historical walk around Paddington (approximately 1.5 hours). Lunch will be in Dillon Reserve and return will be by bus and train.
N.B. I will be asking for an indication of interested members at our March meeting to ensure sufficient guides are made available for the Barracks tour (their request).
