Guided history tour of Balmain
For our April outing, volunteers at the Balmain Association will give us a guided history walk around Balmain, starting at their headquarters at the Watch House. This was built to an Edmund Blacket design in 1854, and is a National Trust heritage building managed by the Balmain Assocation. Our visit will coincide with the National Trust Heritage Festival. The walk will be on essentially level terrain, passing by the oldest licensed hotel in Balmain, established in 1857, at which we will stop for lunch.
We will meet at Epping to catch the 9:27 train from platform 2, changing at Town Hall for the 10:20 442 bus at QVB York Street stand B.
The cost for the tour will be $10, and lunch will be at own expense. Currently prices begin at $14 for bangers and mash.
