Justice and Police Museum/ Parliament House

Our June outing is a visit to the Justice and Police Museum. We will be given a brief introduction, after which we will view the exhibits.

The museum was opened in 1856 as The Water Police Office and Court, and is of interest both for its architecture and its displays. Quoting from the guidebook: "Step into the dark side of Sydney's past. The displays explore the continuing history of law, policing and crime throughout the whole of New South Wales. Many displays relate to this site and to particular historical episodes, general themes and contemporary issues."

We will lunch at the Rugby club, and then join a tour of Parliament House, during which, if he can manage it, we will meet our local member Greg Smith.

We will assemble at Epping station to catch the 0908 train from platform 1, changing at Central for Circular Quay.

The cost will be $25.

This outing will be led by Wal Gallagher, phone: 9868 7765.
