This outing on 20 October 2014 is a visit to the unique ‘Benson Collection’.at Hornsby Heights. This collection is not usually open to the public but we have a special invitation from the owners, Ken and Jan Benson. They live in a normal two storey home. Literally every room in the house (and outdoors) contains a variety of ‘collections’ which range from the exotic to the kitsch. Each room has a ‘theme’ and every square centimetre of floor, wall and ceiling seems covered in collectibles. Overall it is quite overwhelming with narrow walkways precluding the use of ‘walkers’.

The wide variety of collectibles will provide some interest for everyone while the unique opportunity to access a house belonging to highly committed collectors makes for an unforgettable outing.

The tour will commence at 10.00am.

We will use own transport to meet at 3 Koala Place, Hornsby Heights (off Somerville Road). Afterwards we will drive to Hornsby RSL for lunch. Note this is a change from the original plan.
