Picnic at Kokoda

In view of the popularity of our picnics, we have organised two this year. Our second will be on 19th September in Rhodes park, near the Kokoda kiosk. We have booked the shelter, which should cope well with most weather conditions.

The shelter provides spacious bench seating for 48 people, so in the expectation that our numbers may exceed this, those travelling by car please consider bringing folding chairs and a small table.

Travel can be by own vehicle, in which case parking can be accessed via Hospital Road, following the signs to the kiosk. Limited free 2 hour free parking exists ajacent to the kiosk, and all street parking is 2 hour for non-locals. The Concord hospital car park offers substantial all day parking, and is a 5 minute walk from the shelter along the memorial track, starting from a gate at the north-west corner of the car park. Close by there is also a 3 hour free car park accessed via Mary Street East. Currently $5 in gold coins is required to enter the hospital car park.

For those wishing to travel by train, the site is a 600 metre walk from Rhodes station.

As usual, morning tea and a BBQ lunch will be provided, starting at around 10:30 am.

Paper plates, plastic cultery and paper mugs will be provided, or you can bring your own.

Please come along with your partners and enjoy a day of fun and fellowship.

Cost: $20.
