17th July 06 – Museum of Freemasonry

This month the outing is on 17th July 06 and will be a train trip to the Museum of Freemasonry in the city. We will assemble at Epping station to catch the 9.54 am train to city Central Station. Leaving the station we will have a short walk along Castlereagh Street towards the junction at Goulburn Street where the Museum is located.

We will discover the hidden mysteries and secrets of Ancient Freemasonry. It has a collection spanning over 200 years and including the Archives, Museum, Gallery and Library of the Freemason’s of Australia. The Museum is housed in the building that is considered the finest example of Brutalistic Architecture in the Southern Hemisphere.

At the end of the tour we will have a buffet lunch at the Mandarin Restaurant, at 2nd level Mandarin Club building, opposite the Museum.

After lunch we may return directly to Epping, or may opt to take a 10 minutes walk up Goulburn Street to the Police Radio Room, Sydney Police Centre, located at the Pelican Street junction. At the Police Radio Room, there will be a 1 to 11/2 hour Powerpoint presentation on Sydney Police operation by the police officer.

Cost for the day is $12.00 per person plus fares and drinks if required.
