Guided Walking Tour of Pyrmont
For our October outing we will enjoy a walking lecture tour of Pyrmont, guided by Janet Paterson, who has made a study of the district. Pyrmont has seen great changes which reflect the changes in Sydney itself. Pyrmont has played an important part in the social, industrial, and economic wealth of Sydney. This tour visits sites which remain from the past, or have been redeveloped for a new use, or have completely disappered.
The tour will comprise an initial stop for morning tea in a scenic park, some walking, lunch in a local pub, and some more walking. We expect to finish around 2:30 pm.
We will catch the 9:04 train from Epping platform 5, meeting our guide at Town Hall and proceeding by bus from stand B in York street. We should bring our own morning tea, and lunch will be at our own expense (in the range $12 to $26).
Cost: $10 plus lunch.
