Friday 1st May 2009
In place of our regular outing in April, we will be attending a taping of the popular ABC TV programme The New Inventors, with host James O’Loghlin.
You will remember in October last year we had a very interesting talk by Chris Russell, one of the judges on this programme. He was able to give us some information on behind-the-scenes activities, and made an offer to show us around if we were able to go to a taping. We hope he can be available on the day.
We will need to meet at the ABC Studios, 700 Harris Street, Ultimo at 12:30pm for a 1:00pm start. Two episodes are recorded on the same day, approximately one hour each, with a toilet break in between. Expect to be finished around 3:30pm. Apparently the seating is a little hard and they don’t object if you want to bring a cushion.
Because of the start time, no group lunch arrangements have been made. The ABC is about a 10 minute walk from Central Station and is also serviced by the 501 bus from Town Hall or Railway Square, for those not up to walking.
There is no cost for the day.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A FRIDAY NOT A MONDAY!
