Canberra/Goulburn – 7August – 9August 2013

An exhibition Turner from the Tate’ is on at the National Gallery from June to September. JMW Turner (1775-1851) is one of Britain’s greatest painters and a key figure from the Romantic generation. A coach tour has been arranged to visit this exhibition which shows 40 oils, complemented by 70 works on paper including large water colours and intimate sketches. The tour is three days/two nights with accommodation and meals at the Heritage Motel in Goulburn.

Wednesday 7 August – Travel to Goulburn with morning tea in Berrima. After lunch visit Taralga Historical Society cottage and museum. Dinner at the motel.

Thursday 8 August – Morning visit to the exhibition at the National Gallery. After lunch visit The Museum of Australian Democracy in the Old Parliament House, then the Tidbinbilla Deep Space & Communication Complex. Return to Goulburn for dinner.

Friday 9 August – Morning visit to Goulburn Waterworks then returning to Sydney via Berrima Courthouse (audio visual presentation), Victoria Falls and the coast road.
