My favourite sports are:

Rugby Union

I played Rugby Union for the Tullamore Termites from 1994 to 1996. The Tullamore Termites went on to win the Presidents Cup in 1997 against Blayney at Blayney. The highlight for me has been to see the All Blacks play the Springboks at Carisbrook Oval in Dunedin.

Basketball

I played basketball for the Bathurst Goldminers from 1990 to 1991 in the State League. I still play in social competitions each week.

Since 1992, every year in July, a group of friends that I used to play basketball with, known as "The Batboys", meet back in Bathurst for a pub crawl. We start at 9:00 am in the morning at The Ox Hotel and go until 3:00 am the next morning. We patronise as many pubs as we can. We still have over 30 people returning each year to take part in "The Batboys Pubcrawl Reunion". It is a great way to keep in touch with friends from university and none of us like to miss this excellent day.

Golf

While I was living out at Tottenham, I played golf on sand greens. Tottenham has a dry climate and they are unable to maintain grass greens. The sand greens are a mixture of sand and sump oil. Just before you putt the ball, you use a scraper to smooth the sand. Playing on sand greens is certainly different to playing on grass greens.

Travelling

I have been very fortunate to have travelled both around Australia and overseas. I have a fascination with New Zealand because of its rugged beauty (especially in the South Island). If you ever get the chance to visit New Zealand, it is worth the trip to look at Milford Sound.

Not to be out done, Australia has many places that are awe inspiring, such as Uluru (Ayres Rock).
