Errata
A Note from Lynne Johnson About her Fold ‘n Rolled Hats Design
Dear Knitters… I just wanted to give you a bit more info about making these hats and to sort out a couple of errata that slipped past us all!
1…There's been a mix up with the numbering of the Hats. The childs' versions [Pages 107 and 108] should be Figs 108 and 109 and the adult versions should be Figs 110 and 111 [Page 109].
2…In the instructions for Stranded Garter Stitch [SG] on Page 109 there's an interesting sentence starting ‘Bracketed sentence etc etc……………' - This was needed as part of the editing process and obviously wanted to stay put. I've tried to think of interesting ways it could become part of the pattern but alas so far no ideas have emerged!
3…On Page 110 under Instructions – Hat, the description of the short row turn should read:
2nd Row: SG to last 5 sts at crown end, yarns forward, slip next st purl wise, yarns back, slip stitch back onto left-hand needle, turn, yarns back. [This is called ……….etc etc.]
4…On this same page the instructions from Row 13 on seem to have slipped off the page. Here's what's missing:
…To finish the hat you will need to repeat rows 1-12 seven or eight times and then check and see how well it fits. Do more rows as needed then cast off loosely.
Sew the cast on and cast off edges together using a flat seam. Run a thread through the crown edge and fasten then trim the top of the hat however you wish….
Feel free to contact Lynne at johnos@cyberone.com.au if you need further information.
On Page 148 - Corded rib (or crab stitch)
4th line of instructions should read:
...yourself working room, then insert hook under loops of the 2nd........
In last paragraph Fig 163 should read Fig 162
