Bird Carving

On this page I have included a small collection of work that reflects the diversity of this amazing medium! There are many, many more possibilities, some of which you can see by visiting the websites of the polymer clay artists listed on my links page!

The framed images at the top of the page are polymer clay carvings of petroglyphs.

Liquid Modelene Experiments

Below are the results of three of my Liquid Modelene experiments. Normally used for mold-making, Liquid Modelene (also known as Castaway) is an exciting medium with loads of potential!

Landscape

"Landscape in Plastic"

This little landscape (app 6cm x 6cm)of Liquid Modelene tinted with oil paint, was 'painted' directly onto glass, using a palette knife. A toothpick was used to add the fine details. Once cured in the oven, the paper thin painting was peeled from the glass.

Collage

"Collage"

This tinted Liquid Modelene collage was worked directly onto a ceramic tile and textured with a wooden skewer. After curing it was coloured with Pearlex powders. Approx 10cm x 8cm.

Textured Stars

"Starry Night"

Liquid Modelene was again worked directly onto a ceramic tile and 'textured' using cookie cutters. When cured the piece was 'metallicised' using Pearlex powders. Approx 12cm x 12cm
