Leyland OPS1 ... MMTB #372 ... seen in service

This emotive colour print is from the book "Trams & Streetscapes Metropolitan Melbourne 1950s-1960s.

How magnificently it captures the ambiance of the lonely deserted depot at night!

According to Bruce Tilley's publication, there were sixty-seven Leyland tiger OPS1's which entered service with the MMTB in 1948-49.  Twenty seven were bodied in MMTB's Preston workshops and were numbered 365-391, whilst 392-431 received Commonwealth Engineering bodies.
