Foal  Trimming

Foal feet change dramatically in the first few months.  If they wear abnormally you will get bone development which will not be able to be corrected later in life.  Some leg deviations can be corrected by trimming and fitting appliances to the feet such as extensions.   Deviations in the first phalanx need to be addressed before eight weeks of age (preferably sooner), and will gradually get harder to alter until the growth plates completely set at six months old when they will not be able to be changed.

Below is Omar Ebonite at ten weeks old.   I am using my March  "Racetrack" nippers.  I use these on everything from foals to draught horses.  Great nippers at a reasonable price.
